I am an Associate Research Specialist at the Biodiversity Research Center, Academia Sinica (BRCAS), Taipei, Taiwan. I was a postdoctoral fellow at Genomic Research Center, Academia Sinica in 2005-2009. I obtained my PhD from the National Tsing-Hua University in 2004. I am equipped with molecular ecology and evolution, fish genomics and specialized in Nanopore sequencing. my current research topics focus on microbial application and evolution, phylogeography of freshwater fishes, fish genome evolution and interspecific mating behaviour. I have assisted BRC in (a) shared facility management and related training courses, (b) committees in AS bio-safety & BRC animal care experiments, and (c) new laboratory design and construction.
My major achievements involving research projects are
- Natural selection on cis and trans regulation in yeasts
- Cellulases identification by transcriptome and secretome analyses
- Evolution of aerobic fermentation in yeasts
- Opsin gene evolution in teleost
- Biotransformation of triterpenoids by microbial enzymes
- Fish genomes and interspecific mating behaviors
