Our current research topics include:
- Sensing system and comparative transcriptome of fishes
We investigate how the visual and olfactory genes of fish evolve to cope with the environmental changes during migration, how the sensory system affect behaviors of diadromous fish, and try to establish the dynamic models of sensory gene expression and sensory physiology of fish. - Taiwan Fish Genome Project
We mainly use Nanopore long reads and illumina short reads and drafted fish genomes to study sensing gene evolution, speciation and hybridization of close-related fishes. - Firefly flash pattern database
We try to establish a standard method to detect the flash pattern of Taiwanese fireflies in laboratory for further comparison.
