Coral ChronoEcology Lab
Coral ChronoEcology Lab

We study how corals adapt to environmental changes through chronobiology and ecology, integrating manipulative experiments, field observations, and molecular techniques to explore coral physiology and ecology across spatial and temporal scales.

Our current research topics include:

  1. Spawning Synchronization and Physiological Rhythms
Investigating how corals use biological clocks and environmental cues (photoperiod, lunar cycles, temperature) to regulate spawning timing.
  2. Environmental Change and Coral Resilience
Studying how temperature, light, and other environmental factors influence coral growth and adaptation through experiments and monitoring.
  3. Climate Change and Coral Bleaching
Examining how heat stress triggers coral bleaching and assessing coral recovery potential and restoration strategies.

Our goal is to provide a scientific foundation for coral reef conservation and restoration while addressing global environmental challenges.
