研究方向

  • 1.印度太平洋海域為世界海洋生物多樣性最高之熱點。研究影響印度太平洋生物多樣性之因素對保育及持續發展其生物多樣性資源有舉足輕重之角色。本實驗室以多個海洋物種為模式(有較廣之地理分佈),探討印度太平洋海洋生物多樣性會否受地質歷史(如冰河時期因海平面降低而成形之冰河避所)及現今之洋流所影響。我們以創新之角度,包含分子生態及型態分類學之方向,研究印度太平洋海域潮間帶藤壺多樣性之模式。結果顯示,西北太平洋擁有很多淺海海域,潮間帶藤壺群族於冰河時期之後,因海平面上升而從不同之冰河時期避難所擴增至外海。由於西北太平洋之低海平面温度,藤壺有較長之幼體漂流期,結果導致西北太平洋潮間帶藤壺擁有隨機交配群體。在印度太平洋海域,印度洋及太平洋於冰河時期分隔,導致現今之潮間帶藤壺群族於印度洋及太平洋形成遺傳上分隔之群體。至西印度洋,因缺乏淺海海域,潮間帶藤壺群族不受冰河時期之低海平面影響。現今之潮間帶藤壺群族及分佈則和海洋之洋流有密切之關係。
  • 2.本實驗室也研究藤壺分類學,在台灣已報導超過94個圍胸總目之品種。近期正研究珊瑚共生藤壺之多樣性及其寄生專一性。
